Swiss Side pro athlete Andreas Raelert has to cancel his start at the Keszthely Triathlon next Sunday. The defending champion had prepared intensively for the race, and he was very much looking forward to compete in Hungary. It was not easy for Andreas Raelert to tell the organizers of the race that he has to withdraw. “In the past few weeks and months, I have done a promising training workload and a good preparation for the season,“ Andreas Raelert said. „Last week, a massive setback occured.“
Andreas Raelert crashed unfortunate coming back from his bike training and suffered a fracture at his right thigh bone. „It is not possible to participate in races in June and July,“ says Andreas Raelert. Regarding the X-ray analysis, medical specialists say that it will take about eight weeks to heal this injury.
„This crash changes my plans for the season,“ says Andreas Raelert. „To race in Kona 2018 seems not realistic.“ Andreas Raelert now focuses on the second half of the season, and he is full of motivation to pave his way for a successful year 2019. The performances he has shown in training so far make him think very positive.
