Swiss Side Pro Athlete Daniela Bleymehl will open her season with the middle distance race at Challenge Salou next Sunday. The 30-year-old is optimistic about her preparation: "I am really looking forward to the start of the season after more than six months without racing. My preparation has been very good. Especially in the last weeks of training I could gain confidence for the season. I am not yet in top shape at this early stage of the year and there is still a lot of work to do, but I think this race is going to be a good test to see where I am right now. "

The main focus of Daniela’s winter training has been on swimming and running. She also complemented her training with a lot of cross-country skiing: "My coach and I set the goal to find the way back to my old strength in swimming and to concentrate especially on my run leg in order to be competitive also in the big races. Compared to recent years, I did less training miles on the bike and have only been away for one specific triathlon camp on Lanzarote, but due to many hours on the xc-skis, as well as a lot of hours on the turbo trainer, I feel well prepared. After the race in Salou, I will be off for another training camp on Mallorca, so I am sure there will be enough riding until the big races!"

Nevertheless, the Challenge Family ambassador makes no secret of her ambitions: "When I am at the start line, I will of course do my very best and try to fight for a top ranking!"
