Before the race the 30-year-old tested her setup in the wind tunnel together with Swiss Side

On Sunday, Daniela Bleymehl will be racing on home soil for the first time in 2019. Despite some health-related issues, the winner of the previous two editions is optimistic about the race: "Not only because of my two victories, Challenge Heilbronn belongs to my favorite races and I am looking forward to be on the start line again on Sunday. Unfortunately, I had to deal with a stubborn cold after my season opener in Salou as well as a minor calf injury that forced me to interrupt my run training for a while. Meanwhile, I am without any pain and ready for the race. In my training camp on Majorca, I was able to do a lot of volume in swimming and cycling and hope to be able to play off my strengths on the challenging bike course."

One of her main rivals is fellow Team Erdinger Alkoholfrei athlete Laura Philipp: "Laura is among the very best in the world on the middle distance. It is a big challenge to race against her, but also a fantastic opportunity to get an indication of where I am right now. Of course, I will give my very best until I cross the finish line."

Testing in the wind tunnel with Swiss Side

To support her performance on the bike, her partner Swiss Side invited Daniela Bleymehl into the wind tunnel to optimize her position and to test different equipment for aerodynamic performance. The 30-year-old is satisfied with the results: "I have put great emphasis on aerodynamics and comfort in the last years. Having the opportunity to test equipment as well as the position on the bike is a privilege and the results give me confidence for the upcoming season."

New sock collection from INCYLENCE

Just in time for the first race on home soil, INCYLENCE launched a new product that complements the existing Daniela Bleymehl Collection. The Hamburg based startup developed the "Danni Signature Short Running Socks" in close collaboration with the athlete that relies on the products since winning Challenge Roth in 2018 and participated actively in the development: "I am strongly convinced of the quality of the products as well as the attitude of the company. It's also great fun to bring my ideas into the product development and design of my own collection."
