First Season Highlight for Andi Dreitz at Challenge Roth
Last year Andi took second place here in Roth at his second long-distance race ever.
This time he’s racing with big goals again and aiming at the victory. The first half of the season is nearly over, but the highlight is still ahead: Racing at Challenge Roth in his Franconian home. After a tight race schedule with three middle-distance races and a long-distance race, Andi completed another specific training block and is fully focused at the race of next Sunday.
The start list for next Sunday shows one of the strongest fields that the Challenge Roth has ever got. Vice world champion Bart Aernouts, as well as third-place-finisher in Hawaii David McNamee, Braden Currie and Andy Potts are only some Names of those guys, who won’t make it easy for Andi Dreitz. The German Andreas Böcherer and the ex pro biker Cameron Wurf are for sure the strongest bikers in the field besides Andi Dreitz. Together they will make it an exciting race during the 180k bike ride.
Last year, Andi was highly focused on himself and tried to race his own race. Due to the big and strong field, it will be necessary to keep his competitors in sight this time. “I had a great race last year, but there are also some things I can do better this time. I am looking forward to the race so much – the atmosphere is unique. Seeing so many familiar faces during the race, and the cheering crowd pushes me a lot. I also love the fact that so many of the best athletes in the world are competing in the race, this brings me to my peak performance.”
