What is your favorite triathlon to participate in? Why?

I love Ironman 70.3 Mallorca because Mallorca is one of the nicest places on earth to train and the technical race course is simply breathtaking.

Whats your favorite music to listen to during training or before a race?

I'm not really the type who listens to music during sports. I like to listen to the sounds of nature. There are only a few turbo intervals sessions, where I like to listen to hard electro music to push me.

What is your favorite non-triathlon activity or hobby?

It’s definitely climbing and riding my mountain bike.

What unique things do you do to physically prepare for a competition?

I think every athlete has a unique preparation. For me, it’s important to relax a lot and do only short and few training sessions. I like to have my dog Nino with me, because he always helps me to calm down and take things easy.

How to you mentally prepare just before starting a competition?

I have a preparation that is always the same. If I can stick to that routine, my mind will be strong and prepared. It´s mostly about eating, warming up, getting the body ready and the mind in anticipation for the upcoming race.

How is Aerodynamics by Swiss Side effecting your performance in triathlon?

Swiss Side wheels are simply fast and that is what iIneed to perform well on the bike leg.

I love the stiffness and the excellent breaking performance. The Aerodynamic “Know How” from Jean Paul and his team is simply amazing. Through a wind tunnel test, I was able to get faster by saving some watts.

Is there anything you want to say or advice you want to give to your fans who might be reading this?

Through my experiences in the wind tunnel, I can say that it really makes sense to spend some money on a good racing suit and aero helmet. The bike is not so crucial for a fast performance. At the end it’s more about the power in yours legs and a good position. A bike fitting could be useful and well invested money.
