Zurich, Switzerland – December 16, 2014 – Swiss Side is proud to announce that sponsored Pro-Ironman athlete Britta Martin of New Zealand has won the Ironman Western Australia SunSmart riding the Hadron 625 wheel set against a very strong international pro-field of athletes. Following dominant wins at the Ironman Wisconsin and the Challenge Taiwan, this notches up three long distance triathlon wins out of three races for Martin.
Martin didn’t just win this Ironman, she set a new course record at 8:56:33 more than four minutes ahead of the second place finisher and was the first woman to come in under 9 hours.
The Swiss Side aerodynamics team believe that this win by Martin continues to prove that the Hadron is one of the top performing aero wheels at a price that is far less than the “Big Brands.”
“The Hadron 625 wheels were awesome,” says Martin. “They allowed me to stay in my aero position the entire time and even though it was windy, I had no problem at all with the bike handling.”
“These type of conditions are exactly what the Hadron 625 was developed for,” says Jean-Paul Ballard, Swiss Side Technical Director. “Maximizing ‘real world performance’ by minimizing total drag by not only focusing on the wheel drag but on the stability in the wind to keep the rider in the aero position as much as possible.”
