 Favorite Training setup: Depending on training session: Gotthard or HADRON 485

Favorite Race Setup: HADRON Ultimate 625 FW and 800+ RW

(485 and 625 FW make big difference in aero performance but don’t feel very different in windy conditions. It’s easy to handle the 625 FW.)

What is your favorite triathlon to participate in? Why?

Challenge Roth because oft he unique atmosphere.

 What is your favorite non-triathlon activity or hobby?
Hiking.

What unique things do you do to physically prepare for a competition?

English: I focus on a very specific routine the entire week before a big race. Over time, this routine has proven to work very well for me. The week of the race, my training program looks the same, I eat in a very similar way and so on…

German: Ich glaube es gibt keine wirklich individuellen Trainingseinheiten in einer Wettkampfvorbereitung. Was jedoch individuell sein kann, sind bestimmte Abläufe. So habe ich in der Wettkampfwoche vor großen Rennen einen ganz bestimmten Ablauf, der sich über die Rennen als erfolgreich erwiesen hat. D.h. ich absolviere immer ein nahezu identisches Trainingsprogramm, gestalte die Ernährung ähnlich, etc….

How to you mentally prepare just before starting a competition?

English: I am looking at the race course and conditions very closely, and go through different race scenarios in my head.

German: Ich schaue mir zunächst genau die Strecken und Rennbedingungen an. Dann gehe ich verschiedene Rennsituationen durch.
