His ultra-fast bike split of 4:15 hours, on the Swiss Side HADRON Ultimate 800 aero wheels, coupled with the subsequent marathon of 2 hours 41 minutes, made this historic sub-8 effort possible. The Swiss Side aerodynamics team, lead by Jean-Paul Ballard was also instrumental in developing the new Aero Cockpit for Patrick Lange. Peloton Magazine reviews HADRON Classic 485 aero wheelset

Fri, Oct 19, 18

"Cutting edge aero for less" is what the team at Peloton Magazine writes, after testing and reviewing the HADRON Classic 485 wheelset. Here an extract of the write-up: "As you would expect from a company specializing in aerodynamics, Swiss Side designed the HADRON Classic 485 to be fast–but not at the expense of rideability. By focusing on stability and predictable handling in windy conditions, this wheelset allows you to stay in an aerodynamic position for longer. After all, aero wheels aren’t much good if they force you to ride in an upright position, with your body catching wind like a sail. In real world...

Aero is King in Kona

Tue, Oct 09, 18

How do you prepare best for a windy race, such as the upcoming Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii? An interview with Swiss Side's CEO and Co-founder Jean-Paul Ballard:  1.   What are the challenges on the windy bike course in Kona? The aerodynamic forces on the bike and especially the wheels, can make it difficult for the rider to remain confidently in their aero position with constant power. If the rider raises from their aero position, or reduces their power on the the pedals, the time losses sum up quickly. 2.   What is important to achieve best possible aerodynamic performance in windy weather?...
