Daniela Bleymehl announced her appearance at Mainova IRONMAN European Championships in Frankfurt to her fans and by that completed her race schedule for the first half of 2019. On June 30th she will experience a race on home soil just 30 kilometers from her residence in Darmstadt: "I am super excited to have such a great race close to my home town. In the past two years I was team captain of a relay of my partner Mainova and could enjoy the atmosphere along the race course. At my home race I am looking forward to great support and a fantastic day at one of my favorite events.“

Daniela Bleymehl is not holding back about her ambitions for the race: „I got third place in 2016. To reach the podium again is my goal for the race. I have developed as an athlete over the last years and I am really looking forward to have a great battle, competing against some of the best athletes in the world.“

German battle with Anne Haug

Fans and media will be excited about the duel between Daniela Bleymehl and countrywoman Anne Haug, who finished third at IRONMAN Frankfurt in 2018 and received praises from the 30 year old: Anne showed that she is among the very best in the world on the long distance and I am really looking forward to a battle with her.“

Björn Geesmann, coach of the reigning Challenge Roth Champion, appreciates the decision of her athlete to compete in Frankfurt: „The race is a great opportunity in the middle of the season to compete against the best in the world. The great thing about the race is that Danielas Season is built on two Highlights (Ironman Frankfurt and Ironman World Championships), so that the pressure isn't as high at each of the races.“

Geesmann is also giving an outlook on the tactics and dynamics already: „The swim will be decisive for the dynamics in the race. Danielas goal should be to attack on the bike and get the race dynamics on her side. I believe that a personal best in the marathon is necessary to compete for a spot on the podium.“

Ongoing support on the bike from Canyon and Swiss Side

On the bike the 30 year-old can still rely on the support of her partners Canyon and Swiss Side. The strong biker is excited about the ongoing partnership and ascribes her improvements on the bike to a strong liaison: „Besides the best equipment it is the support of both companies that stands out. I was able to test and optimize my setup in the velodrome and in the wind tunnel and got great support from both partners. These kind of tests and collaborations are necessary to compete against the best and achieve my goals in 2019 and beyond.“
