Athletes

Swiss Side Pro Team

Patrick Lange

The 35-year-old is not only the 2017 and 2018 Ironman World Champion, but also became the first athlete to break the magic 8-hour mark in this race (07h 52min 39sec). A record that Swiss Side and partners had been working on with Patrick in Project 101. The aerodynamic optimization work with Patrick is ongoing – and very successful: In 2021 he won Ironman Tulsa (USA) as well as Challenge Roth and
came second at Challenge Budva. Currently he is ranked #5 in the PTO world
ranking

Daniela Ryf (DT Swiss Aerodynamics by Swiss Side)

The 34-year old athlete from Rumisberg, Switzerland, has already won four Ironman World Champion titles (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018) as well as five Ironman 70.3. World Championships (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019). As a DT-Swiss athlete Daniela benefits from their cooperation with Swiss Side, which shows in a whole series of race wins in the 2021 season: 1st place at Ironman 70.3 California and Switzerland, victory at Ironman Texas and Austria as well as at Time Triathlon Alpe d'Huez and Trans Vorarlberg Triathlon.

Laura Philipp

The German town of Heidelberg is home to the 34-year old athlete, but racewise the whole world is her playground: In 2018 she won Ironman Barcelona with a new course record and new German long-distance record. She came third at the 2017 Ironman 70.3 World Championships as well as at the XTERRA World Championships (off-road triathlon). In 2019, she made her Hawaii debut and finished fourth. In 2021 she won the Ironman races in Austria and Finland, as well as Ironman 70.3 in Zell am See.

Andreas Dreitz

Challenge Roth is a triathlon monument and winning it is something special. Even more so if you are a local hero, just as this 33-year-old Franconian pro from Lichtenfels, Germany. Andreas fulfilled his dream of winning the legendary race back in 2019. His palmarès cover far more than this win, however: He has more than ten 70.3 triathlon victories under his belt, he took the victory at Ironman 70.3 Wiesbaden 2016 which made him European Champion. In 2017, he won his long-distance debut at Ironman Italy. As a strong cyclist, Andi benefits from Swiss Side’s aerodynamic expertise and provides important input for our work.

Jan van Berkel

The 35-year old from Bülach, Switzerland, has left his mark on his home race by winning Ironman Switzerland three times in a row. In the 2021 season, he was runner-up at the Ironman race in Tulsa (USA). To ensure that his success story continues, and Jan achieves his goal to finish in the top three of this year’s World Championship on Hawaii, Swiss Side supports him with fast wheels and aero optimization.

LISA NORDÉN

Before giving longer distances a try in 2021, the 36-year old from Stockholm, Sweden was a very successful Olympic distance triathlete. She won, among others, 2 ITU World Triathlon Championship titles (2012 & 2006 (U23)), and an Olympic medal. And she nailed her long-distance debut at Ironman Lake Placid, too: Not only did she win, she also set a new bike course record. In 2022 she will be looking to cement her place as one of the leading long-distance triathletes. Swiss Side is proud to be partnering with the Swedish triathlon icon and support her throughout the upcoming season.

Daniela Bleymehl

Motherhood and top performance go together quite well as the 33-year old athlete from Darmstadt, Germany, has proved quite impressively in the past years. Before having her second child in 2021, she got
herself quite a collection of race wins, e.g. at Challenge Roth, Ironman Italy, Ironman 70.3 Zell am See – and this was just the 2018/19 season. In 2022 she’ll return to pro racing and the Swiss Side team could not be more excited to work with Daniela in the upcoming year,
aiming to create a great combination of technological and human performance.

Yvan Jarrige

Performance knows no limits. This is not only true for Swiss Side wheels, but also for our athlete team. 33-year-old Yvan Jarrige from Rouen was the first French Swiss Side pro, making the team even more international. And faster! He is not only strong in middle distance racing, which he proved with his victory at Ironman 70.3 Rio de Janeiro in 201 and a third place at Ironman 70.3 in Les Sables d’Olonne 2021. He is also very interested in aerodynamics, which is why we are confident that our cooperation will lead to a smooth transition to long-distance triathlon in 2022.

Rasmus Svenningsson

2021 has been the 29-year-old athlete’s best year so far. The pro triathlete from Stockholm, Sweden, won Ironman Lake Placid, finished second at Ironman Austria and third in Dubai and South Africa. We are very excited to have Rasmus on the team as an ambassador of our brand.

Denis Chevrot

The 32-year-old from St. Étienne, France, debuted in Ironman racing back in 2011, after graduating in civil engineering. He collected his first win in 2014, at Ironman in Western Australia, and showed that he has not lost his force in 2021 by winning Ironman Austria and Ironman 70.3 Warsaw. Welcome to the Team, Denis! Swiss Side is proud to engage in this partnership and will support him on his way to race success and aerodynamic optimization.

Justine Matthieux

Just one year after turning pro, the 25-years-old athlete from Pouilley les Vignes, France, won her first race at Ironman 70.3 Les Sables D’Olonne in 2020. Runner-up at Ironman Mallorca 2021 and third place Ironman Lanzarote 2021 were further steps on her path to pro triathlon success. We are proud to welcome Justine to the Swiss Side team and look forward to working with her.

Andrea Salvisberg

The 32-year-old from Wallisellen, Switzerland, is a member of the Swiss national team, focusing mainly on Olympic distance racing. He’s got five Swiss Championship titles under his belt, finished 3rd at the European Championships 2016 and won the silver medal at the EC 2018 in the Mixed Relay category.

Raelert Brothers: Andreas Raelert

The 45-year old from Rostock, Germany, is a long-distance legend: In 2011 he set a new full distance record time that lasted till 2016, he crowned himself European Champion in 2010, won 4 Ironman- and Ironman-70.3 races and finished five times on the podium in Kona. Swiss Side put their entire Formula 1 aero know-how to use to develop the fastest triathlon time trial bike in the world for Andreas, together with his bike sponsor Cube.

Raelert brothers: Michael Raelert

If an athlete has won multiple 70.3 IM World- and European Championship titles as the 41 year old from Rostock, Germany, has, he must have done many things right. In our cooperation with Michael, we benefit from his experience and input for our product development process to
make sure he gets to ride the fastest wheels on the market. A fruitful cooperation: In 2019 the former 70.3-world record holder took first places at the Tweet Coast Enduro and the Raby Bay Long Course in Australia as well as the second place at each, the Chiemsee Triathlon and the Laguna Phuket Triathlon.
