Specific for time trial and triathlon racing, the 80mm deep profile is engineered to deliver maximum speed and thrust in medium to low wind conditions whilst maintaining predictable, stable handling in the gusty conditions, comparible with competitor wheels 20mm shallower. The HADRON² Ultimate 800 is the world's lowest drag, maximum sailing effect aero wheel, setting the new benchmark for aerodynamic performance. Full carbon clincher, tubeless ready construction. UCI approved. IIncluding lifetime warranty for material and workmanship defects and a Fair-Share-Policy for any other riding damage.

Description

The new unmatched benchmark for aero wheel performance. Minimum Aero Drag with Maximum Aero Stability in the wind. 20mm inner rim width, tubeless ready carbon clincher wheels for best possible rolling resistance and to accomodate also wider tyres. Engineered with the continuous learning since Day-1 at Swiss Side, combining our latest aerodynamic research methods from our Formula 1 background and derived technolgies. Compared to the HADRON Ultimate, this latest HADRON2 Ultimate rim shape reduces steering moment by a further 26% for increased stabilty in the windy and gusty conditions, whilst reducing the aero drag by a 10 - 20% depending on the rim depth, also thanks to the new Aerolite II spoke developed in collaboration with DT Swiss. Built with the latest top level 180 DICUT hub, SINC ceramic bearings and the highest quality production through our partnership with DT Swiss, there is zero compromise on performance and quality so you can set new personal best times on your favorite courses.

 

 

Compatibility

Shimano 10, 11, 12 speed freehub as standard. Also SRAM 10, 11 speed compatible. Free hub kits are available for order separately: Campagnolo 10,11,12 speed, Campagnolo N3W 13-speed, and 12-speed XDR Driver.

Hub

DT Swiss 180 DICUT to Swiss Side specification. Rear hub internals use 240s ratchet system in 180 DICUT hub shell, except for DISC rear wheel which uses the Ratchet EXP system. Disc Brake Interface: Disc Center Lock; Axle System as delivered: 12 x 100mm thru axle front; 12 x 142mm thru axle rear; Disc brake wheel hubs are also supplied with interchangeable end caps for 5mm x 100mm disc brake QR front axle, and 5mm x 135mm disc brake QR rear axle. For DISC Rear Wheel: DT Swiss 180 DICUT, 36T Ratchet EXP. Disc Brake Interface: Disc Center Lock; 12/142mm Axle System.

Spokes

DT Swiss Aerolite II spokes and Aero Comp II Straightpull spokes with DT Swiss pro lock hidden aluminium nipples.
Front Disc Brake (2-cross pattern): 24 spokes.
Rear Disc Brake (2-cross pattern): 24 spokes.

Bearings

  • SINC ceramic bearings
  • Made of extremely tough and wear- and corrosion-resistant ceramic material
  • Reduces rolling resistance to absolute minimum
  • Guarantees greater durability than conventional ball bearings

Tubeless ready rim tape (pre-installed), Valve extension, Tubeless valve, QR skewers.

 

For full carbon DISC Rear Wheel: Tubeless valve, valve spacer, pump adapter, spare valve cover, wheel bag.

 

Disc brake wheels DO NOT come with the “lock nut” / disc brake rotor lock ring– this is specific to the bike.

Tyre Size

All tyres from 25mm to 64mm can be used on this rim. We recommend using a 25mm tyre on the front. If  additional comfort is desired, a 28mm tyre can be used  on the rear. We do not recommend tyres greater than 30mm width for maximising aerodynamic performance.

Rider Weight / Safety Notice

The maximum total system weight (bike + rider) for the HADRON² Ultimate disc brake wheelset is 110kg. Tyre pressures of 120psi should not be exceeded.
